Now the open-ended questions:

Question 13 - Do you have any general comments on the 2022 car?

Answer: It once again became who can run the wings the lowest.

Question 14 - Do you have any general comments about the league?

Answer: Run very well by Janos. Best league ever. I don't like the discussion on discord via the web board. (but I'm old)

Question 15 - List a few things that you liked about the 2022 season

Answer: No back to back races.

Question 16 - List a few things that you disliked about the 2022 season

Answer: Some drivers blocking like crazy all the time.

Question 17 - What would you like to see changed, improved, or implemented in 2023? Your answer can be about the league as a whole, the car, regulations, etc.

Answer: Changing weather during sessions, including race.
Add to the rules, NO Passing under a yellow flag.
Make Hard tires more usable. Maybe make them only .2 a lap slower than Mediums. Make a bigger difference in Soft / Medium grip and durability .

Question 13 - Do you have any general comments on the 2022 car?

Answer: Rear was tail happy when aggressive. Was very easy to drive though. Its the same issue with S397 dlc, if your a driver who prefers a planted rear end, your gonna be on back burner on fighting for victory because driving with RW on 1 is always fastest, if you can control it.

Question 14 - Do you have any general comments about the league?

Answer: Great league with great drivers. Been around all you guys for more than a decade. Sucks i cant participate more, but thats life.

Question 15 - List a few things that you liked about the 2022 season

Answer: Didnt have any issues getting info about car/tracks, even being away after months. links were easy to locate.

Question 16 - List a few things that you disliked about the 2022 season

Answer:
1.Cars too fast. Too satisfy a entire group of drivers i do understand its just much easier to have a car with alot of grip. The consequence is were 5seconds faster than real life pace. If admins decide to use custom mod in future, maybe lowering hp/torque would raise lap times.
2. mini races. i may have misunderstood but attending those shouldnt be a burden to your license points.

Question 17 - What would you like to see changed, improved, or implemented in 2023? Your answer can be about the league as a whole, the car, regulations, etc.

Answer:
1. A new car
2. If we really want to improve grid quality, then no top10 drivers in previous championship should be on same team. Put a emphasis on the Team championships and growing bonds between members whether your fastest or 5seonds off the pace.
3. stretch points allocation to the top 15 drivers each race to promote Teams Title, or top 18 if we add more teams to grid (reason in #4)
4. Work more our partner league to maybe choose a raceday that will bridge the 2 leagues to create one big one. This could be achieved by Adding 2 more teams to grid, The pride involved having your own league is sometimes a hindrance to growing something even more superior.

Question 13 - Do you have any general comments on the 2022 car?

Overall I liked racing this year's mod, but it was not as good as 2021's, for the following reasons:

1) Out of the box the 2022 mod was way too fast and easy to drive. After some unfortunate detours, the aero finally got improved but not enough. There was too still much drag penalty for using higher wings. At tracks that should have required rear wing settings of 5 or 6 we ended up using 1 or 2.

2) Fuel consumption was too high to have higher wings be a viable option.

3) Brake wear was so low that it wasn't necessary to try to optimize it using the ducts.

Question 14 - Do you have any general comments about the league?

Good camaradarie with good racing battles and many enjoyable exchanges on Discord. Sim Racing's version of "Cheers".

Good level of driver mutual respect.

I really like the "Official Practice" component of SRH. Another time when everyone comes together and bonds as a community.

Administration is "top notch", absolutely.

Question 15 - List a few things that you liked about the 2022 season.

Rich Walcott, Otto Acosta, Glyn Cooper and Richie Haynie's willingness to help try to fix the Aero, with test time and feedback.

Richie Haynie, Bill Worrel, and Cliff V.'s leaps in performance. Several new guys who are Fast!

The fact that the mod would repair almost any damage, so that you could keep racing even if 2 or 3 laps down. ( I know, I know, totally unrealistic.........)

Having a teammate that I knew from the "old days" at Jim Russell Racing, and who is almost identical to me in speed.

Absence of back to back races was kind of a relief.

Question 16 - List a few things that you disliked about the 2022 season

The frenzy to fix the mod after the season had already started. I hope we never have to go through that again.

It's nice if we can have our mod approximate actual F1 lap times and trap speeds if we can, but once the season starts we need to leave it alone, "flaws" and all, just working with what we have, to do our best. ( Just like real life? ) Repeated changes are too unsettling to league morale, imo. In the end, as Otto always says, "The cream always rises to the top" anyway.

As far as winter testing goes, we need to keep the LOOMING DEADLINE-no more changes once the season begins, planted firmly in our minds.

Question 17 - What would you like to see changed, improved, or implemented in 2023? Your answer can be about the league as a whole, the car, regulations, etc.

Perhaps augment or replace the current Mixture/Boost settings with Battery Management. Not sure this is even possible.........

Requirement to start Mini's with 145 L fuel. Race Grid Penalties for noncompliance. Race Grid Penalties for reckless/dangerous driving in the Mini Races. Offended drivers could file a complaint, similar procedure that's currently in place for regular races. More work for Janos, though.....

Question 13 - Do you have any general comments on the 2022 car?

Answer: After all the changes just like every season we arrived at almost the same car we always have. Therefore for me its stale and just a cozy blanket to keep everyone happy. We might aswell have fixed setups next cause we are not far off now. No disrespect to Jeff or Janos but thats the reality now.

Question 14 - Do you have any general comments about the league?

Answer: The league itself is one of the best out there. Overall those that take part are of good sort. I think Janos and his crew are solid and do an outstandnig job.

Question 15 - List a few things that you liked about the 2022 season

Answer: Finally pairing up with a great mate an a formidable foe in Otto and was interesting to see how we speaked the same lingo car wise, if not always quite on the same page.

Question 16 - List a few things that you disliked about the 2022 season

Answer: Direction the car went in. I think if Im honest the drivers had too much input on the car development to the detriment of it in the end.
After all the talk about lapped cars we still seemed to circle back to alot of the same issues for example cars being lapped racing into the turns only then backing off with the passing car almost out of control trying to pass. Or slow right down in the apex o a turn to let the faster car by. Each one of these actions costs both cars more time than if the car being passed had just gave it up. Maybe we need bigger mirrors??

Question 17 - What would you like to see changed, improved, or implemented in 2023? Your answer can be about the league as a whole, the car, regulations, etc.

Answer: (You Asked!!) Simple Formula Pro for 1 season to see how it works out. This is a car thats updated by S397, its always compatible with the updates to rF2 and paid tracks etc etc. Its cheaper than a starbuks coffee and lasts all season. And we all are stuck with the spec for the year. Plus its locked I believe. I saw a few comments oh it doesnt look like F1?
Well frankly I think its closer to current F1 cars than what we have been using up until now look wise. Also there are some really nice F1 skins already out there that make these cars look great(nicer than we just used). Its got big mirrors (bonus) it has full size tires which you can feel in the suspension. Also takes a few laps for tires to come in and I believe next year real F1 wont have tire warmers. Yes its nervous stock but is easy to dial out in the setup "if you make an effort" and I would be quite happy to help create a good default base for people to start with if we went that route. There is no need to reduce power or any mods to it if it were even possible. I saw someone say the steering wheel is cartoony. Frankly its not and if you drive in VR which a lot of people do now the info on the screen is quite helpful. Yes there is a push to pass, so what!!, As far as I'm aware there is no proper hybrid for any mod out there thats works properly, so we will never have a proper F1 style experience. P2P is similar to KERS. Formula Pro is easier for the league Admin and I think its worth a change just like real F1 does almost every year. Its not stagnant like indycar.

With regards to this years mod, basically we took away the challenge of the brakes so if you were not the fastest but you were good on brakes then now you have 1 less thing in your arsenal to help level the playing field. Engine is way to safe. I could use a setup from any of the past few years and with a couple of changes it worked fine. This is wrong this is not progress this is not the "pinnacle" of sim motorsport. There is a element of us who just want change, we want safe, warm and cozy, no challenge little effort same ole same ole. I heard someone mention a mod out there that we could use which I looked up and ill tell you this, It a mod of a mod of a mod etc etc etc fundamentally its nothing new still. I dont care how it looks. IT will have the same issues. Front tires with crazy tire temp spikes and wings that dont make sense at some tracks.

I realize at the end of the day people are lazy don't want change and I also realize Janos wants to play safe and keep the league full. I understand it but there is no harm in trying "change" for 1 season. This league will always be successful based on how well its run not on which mod we run. I know some here think it would be the death of the league but if a league dies for me its because its crap in the first place.

A few more comments:

We start the races earlier which really makes a difference but we still dont start the mini races till like 1.5 hrs later. Thats one of the main reasons I dont stick around for the mini's. If your on EST this makes a huge difference If your up at 5 or 5.30am the next day. Also someone mentioned we should have a lower division where good drivers can move up to the top league to keep it full. This would never work as we cant keep the grid full now with the drivers we have all season.
Also I know Brandon mentioned maybe combining FIHS and SRH but that doesnt work either. Im thinking SRA and USF1 . USF1 was fantastic and when we did the alliance it killed the league (sorry Bandon) im not the only one that thinks this and I know you mean well with these thoughts and are a good guy but I personally dont think thats the way to go.

Maybe more promotion of FIHS as a junior league to help people with lesser ability to cut there teeth on is the only suggestion I would offer there.

Ok if you managed to get to the end of this diatribe then congrats, those are my thoughts like em or not.

13. General comments on 2022 car.
Agree with many others that the aero characteristics of this mod needed improvement.
I have been trying out other F1 mods and have found none that are as sensitive as to tire wear. Would like tire wear in our series to be more closely in line with real F1 tire wear rates.
The mod we used this last season seemed to me to have a very narrow setup window. Richard Walcott was nice enough to give me one of his setups for a race and it made a world of difference.
Would like more input from the faster drivers to be able to figure out if it is my driving or my setup holding me back. Maybe have a setup download available after a race is completed to help those that are deficient in this area that would help reveal this.

14. Enjoy the league. Think it is run very well.

15. Things I liked.
No back to back races, only one quali round.

16.Things I disliked
Impatience of faster drivers that believe that slower (lapped) cars should jump out of their way so they do not lose even a split second. The F1 sporting regulations state "a blue flag waved on the track warns the driver that he is about to be lapped by a faster car and must not intentionally impede their progress, such as blocking a passing manoeuver. A driver may incur penalties if he ignores 3 successive blue flags. It does not say I must move out of the racing line immediately to let them pass.

17. What would I like to see changed or improved.
No one wants to improve their driving more than I. I have always been successful in everything I have raced from go karts to superbikes to autocross. This is the only venue where I have been this far off the mark. I did learn and improve this year even if my results failed to show it. My apologies to Bill for not being a more productive team mate.
I would much like to see some type of setup help from faster drivers to slower drivers.
Would like to drop the formation lap.
Make Monaco a side event that scores points for fastest lap times instead of a race. Let every participant have one warmup and two quali laps for points. In MHO Monaco should be dropped from the F1 calendar since it is a fast parade not a race. The only passing comes in the pits or DNFs.

Thank you to Janos and all who made this last season possible. Much appreciated.

. I think if Im honest the drivers had too much input on the car development to the detriment of it in the end.
Most condescending comments i ever heard, sadly !
And this speaks volumes to me :
Rich Walcott, Otto Acosta, Glyn Cooper and Richie Haynie's willingness to help try to fix the Aero, with test time and feedback.

Question 13 - Do you have any general comments on the 2022 car?

Answer: On the season begins I was more competitive with the physics present, where I could made changes on car's setting with the predictive knew results, like a real car, but after the changes during the season, it became a toy settings, a lot of those I would never imaging use on a real car...

Question 14 - Do you have any general comments about the league?

Answer: I liked this league because it remember a old school league, and I'm a nostalgic, it has a great racers what is a big challenge, even the rookies had an impressive evolution. Congrats all!

Question 15 - List a few things that you liked about the 2022 season

Answer: I liked a good competition, drivers improving and evolving during the season. This was my first season on this league, and unfortunately due to personal issues, I was not able to dedicate as much as I'd like, to have a better evolution during the season, even with a car that I did not like after changes.
I'd loved the race tests!... Could be a little longer...

Question 16 - List a few things that you disliked about the 2022 season

Answer: I would like have a transmission on Twitch TV or YouTube, that we could share with friends and family, but without a commentator and narrator, as I know it has a cost, and it is not the purpose of the league.
The fuel management is healthy, but taking it to the point of having to develop a setup using the lean mixture entire lap, and still having to manage the boot at each part of the circuit is already too much, which in itself forces the use few wings, which in my point of view is subvert the concept of an aerodynamic car... And on this situation, makes me slower than I could be, like on car that began the season, and my way to drive, I had some adapted, but not enough to be more competitive.
The qualifying session has a default time, but I think could be 5 or 10 minutes longer, particularly case, I have difficult to find a good lap in so few time even after training a lot.
I still looking where I could be 2 seconds faster than my best time, in comparison with the faster drivers...

Question 17 - What would you like to see changed, improved, or implemented in 2023? Your answer can be about the league as a whole, the car, regulations, etc.

Answer: Qualy add some time; improve the fuel management and car physics to be more realistic, so as to make it more competitive for everyone,
Race tests a little longer on Tuesday, and add three race starts test before the race, to avoid mistakes and collisions on the race start.

Thank you All, and congratulations for this season to All drivers.
